List your car for film, TV and photoshoots
Productions need real cars: hero cars for close-ups, everyday cars to fill a street, and the exact model a scene was written around. CarSeen is a picture-car casting service in Shoreditch, London, matching privately owned cars with film, TV, commercial, music video and photoshoot productions. If you want to hire your car out for filming, register it below and we'll be in touch when a brief fits.
Renting your car. List it here to rent it to UK film and TV productions. We match privately owned cars with film, TV, commercial, music video and photoshoot work.
What you can earn. It depends on the job: how many days, how the car is used and whether you drive it. The form asks for an expected day rate, for example £350 / day — or open to discuss. We'll confirm the fee for each job before you agree to anything.
Insurance and bookings. Productions normally arrange picture-vehicle or film insurance while the car is in their care, usually naming the owner as an interested party. Exact cover is confirmed job by job, with paperwork in place before the call time. Nothing is booked without your agreement. When a production needs a car like yours, we send you the dates, location and how the car will be used, and you decide.
How it works
- 1. Register your car. Add the make, model, year, colour and at least one good photo.
- 2. We hold your details privately. Nothing personal is published.
- 3. A brief comes in. When a production needs a car like yours, we send you the dates, location and how the car will be used.
- 4. You decide. Nothing is booked without your agreement.
- 5. Shoot day. We confirm the call time, location, paperwork and on-set contact in advance.
What productions look for
A picture car doesn't need to be perfect. It needs to be right for the scene. Productions look for:
- Period accuracy. The right model, trim, wheels and colour for the year. Original, unmodified cars are often more useful than restored ones.
- How it reads on camera. Solid, muted colours usually work better than bright metallics.
- Reliability. The car needs to start, idle and repeat the same move many times in a day.
- Availability and flexibility. Shoot dates move. Owners who can work at short notice are more likely to be picked.
- Matching groups. Your car may be cast alongside others of the same era.
What cars we want
All eras and types are welcome. Hero cars get the attention, but everyday cars make a scene believable, and productions ask for them constantly:
- Everyday family cars from the 1960s to the 2000s: saloons, hatchbacks and estates that were once on every street
- Classic and vintage cars, including pre-war
- American cars, pickups and campers
- Modern cars in plain, common colours for present-day drama and adverts
- Vans, taxis, buses, motorcycles and commercial vehicles
- Unusual, characterful or famous-lookalike cars
Not sure your car is interesting enough? Register it anyway. The ordinary car nobody kept is often the hardest to find. See cars wanted for filming.
Photo guidance
Good photos get cars cast. Please upload:
- A front three-quarter view (the most important shot)
- A rear three-quarter view and a side profile
- The dashboard and the interior, front and back
- Any damage, rust or non-original parts, so there are no surprises
Shoot in daylight (overcast is ideal), away from clutter, with the car clean and no filters. You can blur or cover the number plate if you'd rather.
Privacy: what we show and what we don't
Your registration number, name, address, phone number and email are never shown publicly. We use them only to contact you and handle bookings.
Payment and fees
Rates depend on the production, the number of days, how the car is used (static background, driven or featured hero) and whether you drive it. We'll confirm the fee for each job before you agree to anything.
Insurance
Productions normally arrange picture-vehicle or film insurance while the car is in their care, usually naming the owner as an interested party. Exact cover is confirmed job by job, with paperwork in place before the call time.
