A picture car waiting under a film studio spotlight

The ordinary car is often the one they cannot find.

Cars wanted for filming

UK film and TV productions ask for period cars, police cars, taxis, electric cars, vans, executive cars and ordinary everyday cars. If you own one, you can list it with CarSeen. We get in touch when a brief matches, and nothing is booked without your agreement.

Period cars

Stories set in another decade need cars that belong there: hero cars, and the older traffic around them. Original, unmodified cars are often more useful than a perfect restoration.

Police cars

Productions ask for police and emergency vehicles, including ex-Met Police cars. The period, the scene and the shoot dates decide what can be used. Police lookalike use in London involves the Metropolitan Police Film Unit.

Taxis

A cab at the kerb is one of the quickest ways a London scene reads as London. Older taxis and modern cabs are both asked for, depending on the year of the story.

Electric cars

Present-day drama, commercials and music videos sometimes need an electric car. Owners can list an EV in the same way as any other car. Charging, range and how quiet the car is are practical points to agree before the day.

Vans

Vans turn up as work vehicles, delivery trucks in the background, and sometimes as the hero. A plain, believable van is often more useful than a rare one.

Executive cars

A character’s car can say as much as the costume. Executive saloons and luxury cars are asked for when the scene needs status, a company car, or a quiet arrival.

Ordinary everyday cars

Hero cars get the attention, but everyday cars make a street believable. Saloons, hatchbacks and estates from the recent past are asked for constantly. The ordinary car nobody kept is often the hardest to find.

Questions

Which cars are wanted for filming?

All eras and types are welcome. Productions regularly need everyday modern cars, vans and taxis as well as classics.

Do you only want classic cars?

No. Period cars are often asked for, and so are ordinary modern cars, vans, taxis and executive cars that make a present-day scene believable.

Are electric cars useful on a shoot?

They can be. Present-day scenes sometimes need an electric car, and owners of EVs can list them. Tell us the scene and we will say what is possible.

Is it free to list a car?

Yes. There are no fees to be listed. We hold your details quietly and come to you when a scene fits the car.

Will my name or registration be published?

No. Your registration number and contact details are never shown publicly. We use them only to contact you about jobs.
